Ilan Benhaim (Vente-Privee)
With insight from collaborating with 2,000 brands, 19 million vente-privee.com members and three important numbers (5, 10 and 20), Ilan Benhaim will discuss how brands can reap the true benefits of the internet and transform user experience both on and offline and across international borders. How is digital effecting social makeup, what impact is that going to have on shoppers in coming years and where will that lead the retail industry?

Born in 1976 and a graduate of Rouen business school, Ilan Benhaim is the director general of vente-privee consulting. Associate co-founder of vente-privee.com, his main mission is to help the biggest players in French commerce to develop a digital strategy and an innovative cross-channel network, in accordance with their global strategies.
The consultancy service brings to its clients a fresh look on the maturity level of their digital strategy (business, organisation) in order to define the necessary steps for development. A team made up of approximately 15 consultants and specialists from a variety of different fields, their aim is to propose an operational accompaniment such as the monitoring and improvement of sales tools (internet website, catalogue cross-canal features, logistics etc) as well assistance in the selection of service providers which can lead to the construction of a successful site.
Ilan Benhaim joined vente-privee.com during his last year of studies in the year 2000. Very quickly his potential was picked up on and he was considered "a small genius of computer science" by his associates. Avant-garde and passionate about new technologies, Ilan Benhaim was also the man who gave life to Jacques-Antoine Granjon´s revolutionary idea, by imagining the structure of the site and all its processes. At the beginning of the millennium, a professional and technical solution for the innovative model of vente-privee did not exist, Ilan Benhaim and the teams who began the venture had to think up and design the tools, systems and processes internally.
In 2006, he was named Director for Strategy and Innovation with the objective to standardise the savoir-faire acquired during the early years, to automate the processes and make the site secure. He therefore participates in the development of the enterprise and the transmission of skills/knowledge across 7 other European platforms as well as the site launched in the United States in partnership with American Express.

Workshop 4: How to capitalise on the growth of mobile in store. Gain insight and question leading retailers on their in-store digital strategies (Portaltech Reply)
Limited Capacity seats available

Today’s customer wants to have full control of when and where they make their purchasing decision, whether at home, online or on the go. Today over 68% of shoppers come armed with ‘a crowd’ via their mobile phone. Purchases are not made ‘alone’; customers research online, send pictures to friends and family, read reviews and compare prices all whilst in-store or browsing sites on their tablet or smartphone.
This behavior marks a ‘new customer’. To connect and build loyalty with this ‘new customer’ retailers need to have an ongoing conversation with their customers so they can better understand their needs and hopefully drive future purchases.
In store is where retailers can really bring ‘the conversation’ to life. Retailers are testing technology in store, opening ‘concept stores’ and integrating mobile into the multi-channel experience while also listening to and conversing with customers across all touch points.
Come to this session to understand how technology can help retailers build trusted relationships and continue the conversation and hear real life examples of what retailers are doing.

Creating a seamless Consumer-Driven Shopping Experience with Omni-Channel
The new shopping paradigm is being driven by the consumer, and the consumer does not care about channels! A positive shopping experience requires a consistent experience for the consumer, regardless of whether that shopping experience is taking place in the store, at their home, or on their mobile device. Today’s consumer also expects to be able to start the shopping experience in one channel and be able to continue the same shopping experience in another channel. In this session, we will discuss best-practices to help you move faster to deliver a seamless shopping experience for your customers, as well as review examples of how this is being delivered to consumers today.

Stream Keynote: How to keep up with customers whilst running to stand still: combining innovation and the knowledge of your people
Retail has gone through a transformation moving from the traditional retailer/product centric model to a customer/lifestyle centric market.
This has come at a time when retailers are facing the added challenge of launching multi-channel offerings and new business models such as international. Few options exist given constraints in capacity, skills and resources, hence outsourcing has become prevalent. But outsourcing doesn’t always give you differentiation, can dilute the branding and impact the customer proposition. Hence the need for a fresh approach combining technical innovation with retail best practice.

Limited Capacity seats available

Synopsis

Mobile commerce is growing at a rate of 129% for some web retailers and as much as 185% for others.

With only 1 of the top 50 UK retail sites being fully Responsive, retailers are not correctly addressing the mobile opportunity with robust mobile commerce resources, and stand to lose up to 20% or more in potential revenue in 2013*.

Consumers are becoming even more demanding, and the diversity of devices browsing the web is expanding at a lightning fast pace (it’s no longer an i-world!).  The need to build slick, user-friendly mCommerce sites – and quickly, is becoming ever more important.

In this session Venda’s Chief Operating Officer, Damon Mannion, will co-present with Cloggs’ Managing Director, Chris Thomas, to demonstrate how Responsive Web Design has enabled the luxury shoe retailer to dynamically cater for all devices and screen resolutions from smartphones through to tablets and wide-screen desktops. As Venda’s very first Responsive site, Cloggs will offer valuable insight into the challenges and rewards of developing a fully optimised site. You cannot afford to miss this session!
